The Tribal Affairs Group is pleased to present Medicine Dish educational sessions created for Indian Health Care Providers. These programs serve as a path to open communication, providing information and promoting discussion about Medicare, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Programs (CHIP) and other issues important to the health of American Indian and Alaska Native people. The Medicine Dish Broadcasts will now be shown on a bi-monthly basis. The next broadcast will be held at 1:30 pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, April 21th on "Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Impact on Indian Health Programs and AI/AN Beneficiaries." CMS experts will present an overview of the new provisions in the CHIP and Medicaid programs including: - Increased outreach and enrollment;
- Citizenship documentation;
- Cost-sharing exemptions;
- Exemptions of Indian-specific property; and
- Tribal consultation.
The Medicine Dish Broadcasts will occur in April, June, August, October, and December. Keep checking this website for additional details about upcoming shows.
