Prior to being named Director of Oversight, Gary Cohen served as Director of the Compliance and Enforcement Division within the Office of Oversight in OCIIO. Prior to that, he served as Chief of Staff to Congressman John Garamendi, and was General Counsel of the California Department of Insurance under Commissioners Garamendi and Steve Poizner. He also served as General Counsel of the California Public Utilities Commission and was a partner at the law firm Keker & Van Nest, LLP.
