- CMS is jointly sponsoring with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases two clinical trials of daily hemodialysis where patients receive 6 hemodialysis sessions per week rather than the conventional approach of thrice weekly hemodialysis. Patient enrollment began in June 2006 and the study will continue through June 2010.
