CSR MLN Matters Tool

This file contains Excel spreadsheets for CSRs that link to the MLN Matters® Articles and CMS Change Requests (CRs) produced since 2008 to the present. This file allows CSRs to access MLN Matters® Articles and CR information by Article Number, Article Title, Article Effective Date, CR Release Date, CR/Transmittal and by Program Type (DME MAC, Part A, Part B, and/or RHHI). Disclosure Desk Reference Guide

The purpose of the Disclosure Desk Reference Guide is to protect the personally-identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) of Medicare beneficiaries by providing contractors with (1) the information they need to authenticate Medicare providers, and (2) the access and disclosure guidelines to be followed when disclosing elements of PII or PHI to authenticated Medicare providers. Privacy and Disclosure of Beneficiary Information to Providers - Training

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is committed to safeguarding the personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) of our Medicare beneficiaries.  Accordingly, we have created training to assist provider contact center telephone and written inquiry staff in protecting beneficiary privacy while providing accurate and complete responses to provider inquiries.  These guidelines are consistent with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and HIPAA requirements as they relate to privacy and disclosure.
