Health Observance Messages

Health Observance Messages

National health observances are special days, weeks, or months designed to raise public awareness about important health topics. CMS regularly shares with the Medicare Provider Community messages about national health observances and the preventive services covered by Medicare. These messages help to remind health care professionals who provide services to seniors and others with Medicare of all the preventive services and screenings covered by Medicare and encourage appropriate utilization. This web page provides access to recent and past health observance and other related messages.

Archived Messages: Refer to the Prevention Awareness Communications PDF document for health observance messages released from 2006-2012.

National Health Observance Calendar: For a list of national health observances and a related toolkit, please visit the National Health Information Center - Health Finder’s website.
