- The purpose of this memorandum is to inform Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Regional Offices (ROs) and State Survey Agency personnel that the SMQT has been converted from a paper and pencil test to an automated test that will be administered at Pearson VUE's testing centers located across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
