The Section L: Training Video on Oral Health Assessment for Nurses video developed by Dr. Paul Glassman, Professor and Director of Community Oral Health at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco available via a link under the Related Links section of this page is a valuable resource for performing oral exams on residents.  This video is mapped to Section L (Oral/Dental Status) of the MDS 3.0 item set.
