Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Education Units Series
Providing continuing educational activities plays an integral role in a health care provider maintaining competence and gaining new knowledge to improve the quality of care for patients. CMS is accredited by both the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). This helps to foster learning and competence by providing educational opportunities that offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit and Continuing Education Units (CEU). These activities include live and enduring, pre-recorded sessions found on this page below.

CMS Measure Development and Maintenance Information Series
Quality health care is a high priority for the President, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Developing quality measures, collecting the data for the measures, and then calculating the results is one way of assessing the quality of health care provided. CMS uses quality measures in its various quality initiatives that include quality improvement, pay for reporting, pay for performance, and public reporting. In developing the highest standard of quality and efficiency measures, CMS has implemented its Measure Management System Blueprint, which is a set of processes and decision criteria used by CMS to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of healthcare quality measures.
The pre-recorded sessions review the various steps of the development and maintenance processes and offer CME or CEU to professionals. You must review the marketing materials form prior to accessing each pre-recorded activity. Please visit the downloads section below for the latest offerings.
