Web-Based Training (WBT)

The Medicare Learning Network

The Medicare Learning Network® (MLN) Products Web-Based Training (WBT) courses are designed for self-paced training via the Internet. These WBT courses provide information on a broad range of CMS topics for health care professionals and their staff. Many of these courses offer continuing education credits.

These WBTs were prepared as a public service and are not intended to grant rights or impose obligations. The courses may contain references or links to statutes, regulations or other policy materials. The information provided is only intended to be a general summary. It is not intended to take the place of either the written law or regulations. We encourage readers to review the specific statutes, regulations, and other interpretive materials for a full and accurate statement of their contents. To view the list of courses and their descriptions, go to "Related Links" and select "Web-Based Training (WBT) Courses".

WBT courses with continuing education credits (continuing medical education [CME] and/or continuing education units [CEUs]) are marked by (*) sign. See course description for credit details.

Many professional associations accept CMS’ MLN WBT courses for continuing education credit. A list of these associations and their policies can be found under “Related Links” by selecting “Association Approvals for WBT Credits” web page.

If the association you belong to is not on the “Association Approvals for WBT Credits” list (see Related Links), you may contact your association to see if they are interested in joining the listing on the “Association Approval for WBT Credits” web page or if they accept outside credit sources. If they are interested in joining the listing on the “Association Approvals for WBT Credits” web page, the association should email CMSCE@cms.hhs.gov.

Upon successful completion of an MLN course, the certificate you will receive will not reflect your association’s credit type.

If you would like to contact the MLN, please email us at MLN@cms.hhs.gov.
