Special Open Door Forums

When a Special Open Door Forum (ODF) is scheduled, please refer to the "Downloads" section below for the Special ODF details and RSVP information. Approximately one week after the Special ODF has passed, the announcement, transcript and MP3 audio file will be posted under the "Downloads" section in one Download link for 30 days. They will no longer be separate files.

CMS has Special Forums throughout the year, to independently discuss new and important program topics.

**Updated October 23, 2014 - Special Open Door Forum (ODF): Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Quality Reporting Program (QRP), Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 1:00pm - 2:30pm Eastern Time. The purpose of this SODF is to provide data collection and submission information to IRF providers for the quality measures NHSN Facility-wide Inpatient Hospital-onset Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Bacteremia Outcome Measure (NQF #1716), and NHSN Facility-wide Inpatient Hospital-onset Clostridium difficile Infection (CDI) Outcome Measure (NQF #1717), which IRF providers are required to report to CMS beginning January 1, 2015. These measures were finalized as requirements for the IRF QRP in the FY 2015 IRF PPS Final Rule, published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, August 06, 2013 (Vol. 79, No. 151), which is available at the following link http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2014-08-06/pdf/2014-18447.pdf.  CMS and the CDC strongly encourage IRF Providers to take the MRSA Bacteremia and CDI LabID Event Reporting training prior to participating in this SODF.  This training is available on the CDC’s NHSN website at http://www.cdc.gov/nhsn/inpatient-rehab/mdro-cdi/index.html.  The Power Point presentation that will be used for this SODF will be posted prior to the SODF on the IRF QRP Training webpage available at http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/IRF-Quality-Reporting/Training.html.  This call will be conference call only. **Updated October 20, 2014 - CMS will host a Special Open Door Forum (ODF) to allow ambulance suppliers, other Medicare providers, and additional interested parties to learn about the upcoming Prior Authorization of Repetitive Scheduled Non-Emergent Ambulance Transport model in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. This Special ODF, the third on this prior authorization model, will include updated information and a Q&A period.
