Hospitals Open Door Forum
The Hospital & Hospital Quality Open Door Forum (ODF) addresses the concerns and questions of the Hospital service setting. The very broad scope of topics discussed within this forum, include payment, coverage, conditions of participation, billing and many other current issues that are related to policy implementation. The Inpatient PPS, Outpatient PPS, provisions of the Affordable Care Act and other laws that affect the setting are all covered, and a recurring update from the areas of the Hospital Quality Initiative including the Hospital CAHPS initiative. Timely announcements and clarifications regarding important rulemaking, agency program initiatives and other related areas are also included in the forums.
**Updated: January 27, 2015 - Special Open Door Forum (SODF): Understanding Dialysis Facility Compare-Driving Informed Decision Making, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00p.m. Eastern Time. The purpose of this SODF call is allow patient advocacy groups, dialysis patients, and other interested parties to provide information and to solicit feedback on the introduction of star ratings on Dialysis Facility Compare. This Special Open Door Forum will provide background on the Compare website star rating initiative, the development of star ratings for DFC, and the role of star ratings and other important consumer information in making treatment decisions. We invite questions from ESRD patients, consumers and consumer advocates, and plans, providers, and purchasers in advance, or during the forum. Please submit questions here. **Updated January 23, 2015 (Date Change): - Special Open Door Forum (SODF): Prior Authorization of Non-Emergent Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Tuesday, February 3, 2015, from 1:30pm - 2:30pm Eastern Time. The purpose of this SODF is allow Medicare providers, hospitals, and additional interested parties to learn about the upcoming Prior Authorization of Non-Emergent Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the states of Illinois, Michigan, and New Jersey. This Special ODF, the third on this prior authorization model, will include information on the prior authorization process and a Q&A period.
The purpose of this model is to test whether prior authorization helps reduce expenditures, while maintaining or improving quality of care. You can find more information on the model by going to:
