New! 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System reporting documents (01-24-2012)

The following educational products have been posted to the "Educational Resources" in the "Downloads" section to assist eligible professionals with 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System reporting:

• Physician Quality Reporting System: Updates for 2012. This fact sheet includes important information about changes to the Physician Quality Reporting System for 2012, as authorized by the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA).

• 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System and Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO): Participation for the Incentive Payment Made Simple.  This Fact Sheet provides guidance for group practices wishing to participate in the 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System and the 2012 eRx Incentive program as a CMS selected group practice.

• 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Pilot: Quick Reference Guide. This Quick-Reference Guide provides direction to eligible professionals participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program on reporting and satisfying the CQM requirements through participation in the Physician Quality Reporting System-Medicare EHR Incentive Pilot. This document has also been posted to the "Alternative Reporting Mechanisms" section page at left.

• 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System: Claims Reporting Made Simple. This document describes claims-based reporting and outlines steps that eligible professionals or practices should take prior to participating. It also provides helpful reporting tips for eligible professionals and their billing staff.

Update!  Not Otherwise classified (NOC) PQRS G-codes (01-23-2012

An update on Not Otherwise Classified (NOC) PQRS G-codes has been posted to the "Measure Codes" section page. Please note that in this notice the date has been corrected for resubmitting rejected 2011 5010 claims. Claims must be resubmitted by February 24, 2012. For more detailed information click on the "Measure Codes" page at left.

January 17, 2012 National Provider Call (01-12-2012)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Provider Communications Group will host a national provider conference call on the 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System and Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program. This toll-free call will take place from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., ET, on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

This National Provider Call will focus on:

• Announcements
• Self-Nomination Overview for Registry, EHR, Data Submission Vendor, Group Practice Reporting Option, Maintenance of Certification and eRx Payment Adjustment
• Question & Answer Session

November 8, 2011 PQRS & eRx Call YouTube Video Slideshow Presentation (01-11-2012)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) hosted a National Provider Call on "Overview of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule to Address the 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System & Electronic Prescribing Incentive Program." The call featured presentations by CMS subject matter experts. A question and answer session followed the presentations.

The document titled "2012 Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) Requirements" has been updated. A correction has been made to page 5. The year for when the letter must be received has been corrected to reflect January 31, 2012 instead of January 31, 2011.
