The Privacy Office is responsible for the management and oversight of the Privacy Act of 1974 as it pertains to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It resides in the Division of Information Security & Privacy Management. The office consists of the Privacy Officer and several Privacy Act specialists.
