Office of Family Assistance (OFA):
The Office of Family Assistance (OFA) is located in the United States Department
of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families and
oversees the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, which
was created by the Welfare Reform Law of 1996. TANF became effective July
1, 1997, and replaced what was then commonly known as welfare: Aid to
Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) and the Job Opportunities
and Basic Skills Training (JOBS) programs.

One-Stop Career Center System:
A program overseen by the Department of Labor that brings together a wide variety
of Federal, state, and local program partners, integrates the provision of
their services and provides a full-range of help to job seekers and employers
all under one roof.

Original Medicare Plan:
Sometimes referred to as fee-for-service, the Original Medicare
Plan is a pay-per-visit health plan that lets individuals go to any doctor,
hospital, or other health care provider who accepts Medicare. The individual
must pay the deductible. Medicare pays its share of the Medicare-approved amount,
and the individual pays his or her share (coinsurance). The Original Medicare
Plan has two parts: Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance).
