Zabeen Chong serves as the Acting Deputy Center Director for the Center for Program Integrity (CPI). She supports the Deputy Administrator and Center Director of CPI in the creation, implementation, and management of federal policy aimed at identifying program vulnerabilities, preventing fraud, waste, and abuse, and ensuring the integrity of all Medicare and Medicaid spending. Prior to this role, Zabeen served as the Director for the Provider Enrollment & Oversight Group (PEOG) at CPI and led the operations of policy and systems for Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment within CMS. Her focus was to streamline the Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment program, as well as to implement processes and policies directed at preventing fraud and abuse in provider enrollment.
Prior to these roles, Zabeen served as the Director of the Website Project Management Group at CMS where she led the redesign and implementation of new technologies on www.medicare.gov and www.cms.gov as well as other web based initiatives critical to advancing the Agency’s mission and operations.
Zabeen has a Master of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University.
