Resources

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has established a standardized system for developing and maintaining the quality measures used in its various quality initiatives and programs. Through its Measures Measurement System (MMS) support CMS provides resource materials and assistance to stakeholders to help them attain a greater understanding of, access to, and collaboration in the measure development and maintenance process. This includes support to measure developers on implementing the MMS Blueprint; identifying frequently asked questions (FAQs) and issues encountered by measure developers during the development process; and troubleshooting novel issues that arise for measure developers. The MMS team anticipates that this increased understanding will contribute to a greater level of stakeholder engagement, which in turn will lead to increased quality and relevance of measures in CMS programs.
