What Medicare Part B Covers
Part B covers expenses incurred for health services including:
- Physician services, including surgery, consultation, office and institutional calls, and services and supplies offered incident to a physician’s professional service
- Outpatient hospital services offered incident to physician’s services
- Outpatient diagnostic services offered by a hospital
- Outpatient physical therapy, outpatient occupational therapy, and outpatient speech-language pathology services
- Diagnostic x-ray tests, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic tests
- Ambulance services
- Rural Health Clinic (RHC) services
- Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) services
- Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) services
- Some preventive services
- DMEPOS
- Certain prescription drugs
- Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs)
