How Medigap Works

Medigap only works with Original Medicare. Medigap policies won’t work with Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans or other Medicare plans. People pay a monthly premium for Medigap insurance.

Note: People who have other types of supplemental insurance, such as TRICARE for Life or through an employer or union, might not need to buy a Medigap policy.
