How Medigap Works (continued)

Federal law standardizes Medigap plans. Each plan has a different set of benefits, and private insurance companies offer the plans of their choice. Each type of Medigap policy offers the same basic benefits, no matter which insurance company sells it. Usually, the only difference between Medigap policies of the same type sold by different companies is the cost.
