Inflation Reduction Act

President Joe Biden's Inflation Reduction Act allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices, caps out-of-pocket spending for prescription drugs in Medicare, and gives more Americans access to affordable health insurance coverage at HealthCare.gov.

Technical Advisor

As a Technical Advisor (Health Insurance Specialist (Technical Advisor-Policy) on USAJOBS), you will develop and implement policies as well as operationalize provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act. This is a remote position. Apply here

Senior Health Policy Analyst

Health Policy Analysts 

As a Health Policy Analyst (Health Insurance Specialist on USAJOBS), you will interpret statute and develop Federal regulations, policy statements, and other program guidance relating to health insurance programs. * This is a remote position. Apply here

Experience we're looking for: One year of experience in (1) Conducting analysis of national health insurance program policy issues in order to propose policy modifications; (2) Developing regulations, manuals, program guidelines, program memoranda, policy letters, and/or instructions to communicate health insurance program policies; and (3) Presenting recommendations and conclusions based on analysis and evaluation of health insurance programs that describe feasible options and/or the consequences.

Management Analysts

As a Management Analyst, you will perform a variety of analytical assignments utilizing qualitative and quantitative analysis to review and evaluate administrative operations and management practices for the purpose of improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This is a remote position.

GS-09 (Entry level):

Experience we're looking for: One year of experience in (1) researching or collecting data regarding policies or procedures for administrative operations; (2) coordinating with internal or external stakeholders on action items, inquiries, correspondence or to resolve issues; and (3) preparing, drafting, proofing or formatting administrative documents or correspondence.

Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute education for specialized experience at the GS-09 level by possessing a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled.
- OR -
Combination of Experience and Education: Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the GS-07 grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at the grade GS-09. Therefore, only education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education may be used to combine education and experience.

Experience we're looking for: One year of experience in (1) Applying principles and theories of applied economic or econometric methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate health care programs; (2) Developing and conducting studies of cost, use, or outcomes of health care services to collect and analyze data, synthesize information, evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations; AND (3) Preparing written documents (i.e., technical reports, research results, or project summaries) regarding health program issues.

Pharmacist

Experience we're looking for: One year of experience in:

  • Dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and providing information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects
  • Performing drug policy analysis and conducting research on pharmaceutical industry pricing trends in order to give authoritative advice on issues such as updating Medicare drug benefit designs, cost-effectiveness, cost minimization, overall drug therapy costs, and budget forecasting.
  • Leading work on interpreting and analyzing pharmacy administrative claims and plan-reported data concerning drug coverage, pharmacy services, and drug utilization patterns.
  • Evaluating medication use patterns and outcomes for patients in hospitals or managed care organizations; Performing administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for a medical facility's pharmacy program
  • Planning, monitoring, and evaluating medication programs or regimens
  • Establishing medication-handling procedures for the storage and preservation of medications;
  • Researching medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries
  • Maintaining all medication records required by law.
Contracting Officer Representative

In this position, you will perform assignments related to contract management and oversight utilizing qualitative and quantitative methods for the analysis and evaluation of contract operations and administration under the Medicare Part B and Medicare Prescription Drug benefit.
