Medicare Program; Announcement of the Advisory Panel on Hospital Outpatient Payment (the Panel) Meeting on August 19-20, 2019

08/19/2019 - 08/20/2019

CMS, Central Office, Auditorium, Woodlawn, MD

The HOP Panel is an expert outside advisory panel that provides technical advice regarding the clinical integrity of the Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) groups, relative payment weights, and supervision levels. CMS considers the technical advice provided by the Panel as they prepare the proposed and final rules to update the hospital outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS).

Important information regarding this meeting is available on the "session" pages associated with this meeting.

Security and Admittance to the CMS complex: Visiting foreign nationals require prior approval. Please send a separate email to APCPanel@cms.hhs.gov prior to the close of registration to request authorization to attend as a foreign national.

**The Real ID Act, enacted in 2005, establishes minimum standards for the issuance of state-issued driver's licenses and identification (ID) cards. A Federal agency may be prohibited from accepting an official driver's license or ID card from a state unless the Department of Homeland Security determines that the state is in compliance with the Real ID Act. Currently, there are no states/territories in a non-compliance status. The states/territories that have either been granted an extension or are under review are located at: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id. If any of these states/territories were to be found not in compliance prior to the meeting, photo IDs (such as a driver's license) issued by the state/territory may not be accepted as identification to enter Federal buildings. This means CMS visitors from this state/territory may need to provide alternative/additional approved proof of identification (such as a passport) to gain entrance into the Baltimore-based CMS buildings.**
