Objective
Use computerized provider order entry (CPOE) for medication, laboratory, and radiology orders directly entered by a licensed healthcare professional who can enter orders into the medical record per state, local and professional guidelines.
Total Measure (3 Components)
More than 60 percent of medication, 30 percent of laboratory, and 30 percent of radiology orders created by the EP during the EHR reporting period are recorded using CPOE.
Exclusion 1 (Medication)
Based on ALL patient records: Any EP who writes fewer than 100 prescriptions during the EHR reporting period would be excluded from this requirement.
Exclusion from this requirement does not prevent an EP from achieving meaningful use.

If you answered "Yes" to Exclusion 1, it is not necessary to fill out Measure 1.
Measure 1 (Medication)
More than 60 percent of medication orders created by the EP during the EHR reporting period are recorded using CPOE.

Based on ALL patient records: Any EP who writes fewer than 100 radiology orders during the EHR reporting period would be excluded from this requirement.

Exclusion from this requirement does not prevent an EP from achieving meaningful use.
