As a lung transplant physician, I believe that extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) has an important role in the management of chronic lung allograft rejection (BOS). Unfortunately, BOS is the leading cause of death beyond the first year after transplantation and the main obstacle to better long-term outcomes.
