Closing the Coverage Gap

People who reach the coverage gap get a discount when buying Part D-covered brand-name or generic prescription drugs. Note the coverage gap doesn’t apply to people with limited income and resources who qualify for the Extra Help Program.

Help with drug costs

People with limited income and resources may qualify for Extra Help paying their Medicare prescription drug coverage costs.

People with the lowest incomes will pay no premiums or deductibles and have small or no copayments.

Those with slightly higher incomes will have no premium or a reduced premium and a reduced deductible. They also will pay a little more out of pocket.
