IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PARTICIPATION IN THE IRF QUALITY REPORTING PROGRAM!!!

We have recently been notified by the CDC that there are a number of IRFs that have not yet properly registered with NHSN for the purpose of submitting CAUTI data for the IRF Quality Reporting Program reporting period of October 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.

IRFs have until December 31, 2012 to properly register with NHSN and take the required training modules, in order to be permitted to submit CAUTI data for the period of October 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.

IRFs that fail to properly register with NHSN by December 31, 2012 will not be permitted to submit any IRF quality reporting program CAUTI data for the period of 10/01/12 to 12/31/12 and will therefore be in non-compliance with the requirements of Section 3004(b) of the Affordable Care Act.  This will cause each non-compliant IRF to receive a 2% reduction in the annual payment update for FY 2014.
