This memorandum summarizes the Office of the Actuary’s (OACT’s) estimate of the change in the depletion date of the Medicare Hospital Insurance Trust Fund resulting from additional revenues provided for by the “Medicare and Social Security Fair Share Act.” This proposed legislation was introduced in the Senate on April 18, 2023 and in the House of Representatives on July 11, 2023.
