Page Help for Indexes

Indexes are pre-defined lists of National and Local Coverage documents. You may begin by selecting “National Coverage” or “Local Coverage” to reveal a list of National Coverage and Local Coverage indexes. To access an Index, click on the corresponding hyperlink.

'Expand All' / 'Collapse All' Links: The 'Expand All' and 'Collapse All' links are used to expand or collapse all sections or a series of sections on a page.

Section Header: The section header can be expanded and collapsed.

Number of Records: This number represents the number of records available in a set.

National Coverage Analyses (NCAs): National Coverage Analyses Indexes include Open/Closed NCAs, NCAs Open for Public Comment, and NCAs with Public Comments. If an Index does not have any records, it will not display in the list. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

Coding Analyses for Labs (CALs): Coding Analyses for Labs Indexes include Open/Closed CALs, CALs Open for Public Comment, and CALs with Public Comments. If an Index does not have any records, it will not display in the list. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

National Coverage Determinations (NCDs): National Coverage Determinations Indexes include an alphabetical listing of all NCDs and Lab NCDs, as well as a NCD Chapter/Section breakdown. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

Meetings and Assessments: Meetings and Assessments Indexes include MEDCAC Meetings filtered by year and an alphabetical listing of Technology Assessments. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

Medicare Coverage Documents (MCDs): Medicare Coverage Documents Indexes may include CMS Solicitation of Public Comments, Compendia, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), Guidance Documents, National Benefit Category Analyses, Potential National Coverage Determination (NCD) Topics, and Questions and Answers (Qs and As). If an Index does not have any records, it will not display in the list. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs): Local Coverage Determinations Indexes include LCDs by Contractor, LCDs by State, and LCDs Alphabetically. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

Articles: Articles Indexes include Articles by Contractor, Articles by State, and Articles Alphabetically. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column.

Contacts: Contacts Indexes include Part A - Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC - Part A), Part A - Fiscal Intermediary (FI), Part B - Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC - Part B), Part B - Carrier, Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC), Rural Home Health Intermediary (RHHI), and a list of Contractor Websites. The number of records within each Index is indicated in the right column. .
