We routinely obtain MRI studies in patients with pacemakers for our neurosurgery colleagues, for instance in patients with pituitary tumors that cannot be imaged well using any other imaging modality. These patients undergo a dedicated cardiology evaluation prior to the MRI study, and are accompanied by a EEP cardiologists and a EEP nurse prior, during and immediately after the MRI study.
