This article summarizes the comments WPS received for Draft Local Coverage Determinations (LCD) MolDX: 4Kscore Assay (DL37013). Thank you for the comments.

1…There is good logic in the LCD to indicate that the currently available published studies haven’t been consistent or as well designed as they could be. The 4Kscare assay is a serum based test, rather than a biopsy. If proven to be effective, it could be extremely useful in making an informed decision to biopsy. The urology community needs more reliable tests than the standard Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test. I use this test to try to avoid performing biopsies in patients. Hopefully more options or better studies will be made available.Comments noted; agree that PSA is not adequate; no change to the policy.
