Heather Grimsley

Acting Deputy Director

Heather Grimsley is the Acting Deputy Director of the Center for Medicare, overseeing policy and operations related to Original Medicare. With over 24 years of experience at CMS, Heather has built a career focused on health care policy and operations, with expertise in delivery system reform, value-based care, price transparency, and Original Medicare claims processing. She currently holds the permanent title of Director of the Provider Billing Group, overseeing complex operational efforts to ensure the accurate and timely processing of Original Medicare claims. Earlier in her career, she led the development and implementation of Medicare demonstrations and spearheaded policy and operations work for the Medicare Shared Savings Program and hospital price transparency initiatives. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science from Wake Forest University and an MBA with a specialization in Healthcare Management from the University of Baltimore.
