Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:

CMS reminds Submitters that HETS will migrate to the HETS Active/Active (HAA) implementation tomorrow, Saturday, April 23, 2022.

This migration will cause an outage of the Medicare HETS 270/271 eligibility system.  The HAA migration will begin at 7:30 AM ET on Saturday, April 23, 2022.  The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors.  CMS estimates that the maintenance window will be completed by 5:00 PM ET on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

HETS Submitters that connect via SOAP or MIME must redirect their HETS traffic to a new destination URL during the specified outage window on Saturday, April 23, 2022.  CMS will communicate additional instructions directly to HETS SOAP and MIME submitters.  Failure to redirect your HETS traffic during this window will result in not being able to use HETS 270/271 for Medicare eligibility.

HETS Submitters that connect to HETS 270/271 via a secure TCP/IP connection (typically using a HETS Authorized Connectivity Vendor) should coordinate with your vendor to determine next steps. Failure to redirect your HETS traffic during this window will result in not being able to use HETS 270/271 for Medicare eligibility.

Following the HAA migration, HETS Desktop (HDT) users must utilize a new URL ( https://HDT.hetsp-haa.cms.gov ) to access the HDT tool.

Updated versions of the HETS 270/271 SOAP/MIME Connectivity Guide and the HDT User Guide are available online (https://www.cms.gov/Research-Statistics-Data-and-Systems/CMS-Information-Technology/HETSHelp/HETS-Documentation-Library ) to reflect URL changes related to the HAA migration. CMS urges all HETS Submitters to prepare for this migration.
