HETS 270/271

Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:

CMS requires that all active HETS 270/271 Submitters update the HETS 270/271 Trading Partner Agreement (TPA) on an annual basis.  CMS requests that all existing HETS 270/271 submitters begin the annual re-certification process by completing an updated HETS TPA immediately.  Failure to complete this requirement will result in the suspension of HETS 270/271 trading privileges.

CMS is providing all active HETS 270/271 Submitters with the opportunity to attend a one hour HETS TPA Process review meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to provide all active Submitters with a clear and concise understanding of the document requirements and verification process. In addition, the HETS TPA form may be completed during the meeting and sent immediately to CMS. The MCARE Help Desk will review the HETS TPA form as well as providing a clear explanation of the form’s requirements. The MCARE Help Desk will be contacting all Submitters to schedule a date and time for the review meeting.

The TPA form and TPA matrix is available here:

All existing HETS submitters must complete, print, sign, scan and return the entire TPA to CMS electronically via email to the mailbox.  All pages must be included, even if there is no specific data entered on that page. CMS requests that submitters complete the agreement electronically before printing, signing and scanning a copy. CMS requests that applicants do not write in their responses by hand.  CMS also requests that submitters scan the entire document as a single document (instead of separate files for each page).  CMS requests that all submitters email the completed application via email to using the email subject line “HETS 270/271 TPA Request.”

The final submission date of the TPA is 09/01/2015. The TPA must be accurately completed, signed and a scanned file must be submitted to the above listed e-mail address to recertify your organization’s use of the HETS 270/271 system. Failure to send the completed TPA agreement to the MCARE Help Desk by 09/01/2015 will result in the revocation of your HETS 270/271 submitter ID until such time the TPA is received and authenticated.
