Description

Hospital outpatient observation care (initial, subsequent and/or discharge management) rendered on the same date as a hospital inpatient admission by the same physician is not separately payable. Medicare payment for the initial hospital visit includes all services provided to the patient on the date of admission by that physician, regardless of the site of service
