• CMS is committed to taking necessary steps to ensure the quality and safety of hospice care. CMS is currently engaged in rulemaking to implement Section 407 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA 2021), which was signed into law on December 27, 2020. • Regulatory Requirements: CMS has introduced a proposed rule (86 FR 35874) through the CY 2022 Home Health Prospective Payment System Rate Update (HH PPS). This proposed rule is expected to be finalized and effective on January 1, 2022.
