Implementation Guides and Standards
The Health Informatics and Interoperability Group (HIIG) supports the development of technical standards and Implementation Guides (IGs) with standards development organizations, federal partners, and participating industry stakeholders. Federal participation in standards development organization work group meetings and events also helps promote adoption of Health Level Seven® (HL7®) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources® (FHIR®) by stakeholders.
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Relevant Standards and Implementation Guides (IGs)
A listing of required APIs and the standards and specific IGs that the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) recommends using to support implementation of them.
Standards and IGs Index and Resources
A listing of standards and recommended IGs that have been developed through an industry-led, consensus-based public process and are publicly available for use at no cost.
