The Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set-Aside Portal (WCMSAP) allows electronic submission of Workers’ Compensation Medicare Set-Aside Arrangements (WCMSAs). The WCMSAP is the recommended method for submitting a WCMSA for review since it is more efficient than sending this information via the mail. Attorneys, Medicare beneficiaries, claimants, insurance carriers, and WCMSA vendors may use the WCMSAP to enter WCMSA case information directly. Registration is required to use the WCMSAP. Please see the section titled “How to Access the WCMSAP and User Documentation” and the “WCMSAP Training Materials” sections below for additional information and assistance.
WCMSAP Features & Benefits:
The WCMSAP provides you with the following features and related benefits:
- Create a Work-In-Progress Case:
- Enter and save partial information for a case while you continue to gather the necessary information to complete the WCMSA submission.
- Receive Alerts:
- Notification of issues or errors found with your submission.
- Immediate confirmation of the receipt of your WCMSA submission.
- Append Documentation:
- Add documentation to a work-in-progress case at any time prior to submission (i.e., the documentation does not need to be mailed).
- Add new documentation to your submitted case if you have received an e-mail alert notifying you that documentation was missing.
- Replace documentation on your case if you received an e-mail alert notifying you that the original documentation was incorrect.
- Perform Case Lookups:
- Search for and view a previously submitted WCMSA case or a work-in-progress in order to obtain case status information, view alerts related to the case, or append documentation to the case.
- Submit a Re-Review Request:
- You can request the Regional Office (RO) to re-review your WCMSA case if you disagree with the RO decision.
- Note: A re-review request is only allowed under specific circumstances. These circumstances are explained in the WCMSA Reference Guide which is available in the Downloads section of this page.
How to Access the WCMSAP and User Documentation
The WCMSAP application can be accessed using the link found in the Related Links section below. For more information on how to register and use this application, please see the WCMSAP User Manual which is available under the ‘Reference Material’ menu option of the WCMSAP application. It should be used in unison with the other reference materials that can be accessed from the ”Help About This Page” link which is available on each WCMSAP page.

CMS has made available a curriculum of computer-based training (CBT) courses for WCMSAP users. These courses provide in-depth training on WCMSAP registration and use of the WCMSAP.
