Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS has changed the scope of the upcoming HETS 270/271 R2018Q300 system release. Updated versions of the HETS Release Summary (version 1-1) and Companion Guide (version 10-11) are now available to reflect these changes. HETS Submitters should review the documents linked below to prepare for this upcoming release. These documents are also available via the HETSHelp Documentation Library.
CMS wants to again emphasize that while HETS 270/271 will now supporter a larger historical Date of Service span, HETS Submitters should carefully consider which, if any, circumstances should they submit 270 requests which contain the maximum allowable date span. CMS discourages HETS Submitters from defaulting to the maximum allowable date span on all eligibility requests. CMS urges all HETS submitters to use these documents to prepare for this upcoming release.
