Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF PPS) PC Pricer
Delay in the Release of FY 2021 PC Pricers
The Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) would like to inform users of the Hospice and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Prospective Payment System Personal Computer (PC) Pricers of a delay in the release of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 versions of these applications.
CMS apologizes for the inconvenience that this causes our PC Pricer users and will continue to communicate the status of the FY 2021 releases of each impacted PC Pricer.
COBOL Personal Computer (PC) Pricers Conversion To Java Web Based Applications
Please advise. Providers and other payers use PC Pricer applications to estimate Medicare payments. Over the next year, CMS will stop producing new versions of the downloadable PC Pricers and issue them as web-based applications. CMS will continue to communicate the status of each PC Pricer conversion with our users as each Web based Pricer becomes available.
The Balanced Budget Act (BBA) of 1997 (Public Law 105-33) mandated the implementation of a per diem prospective payment system (PPS) for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), covering all costs (routine, ancillary, and capital) of covered SNF services furnished to beneficiaries under Part A of the Medicare program effective for cost reporting periods beginning on or after July 1, 1998.
