CMS is planning a HETS 270/271 system release in August, 2009 that will enhance the 271 responses Trading Partners receive from the HIPAA Eligibility Transaction System (HETS) 270/271. No content changes to the 270 request will be required for this release. Please review the online release documentation and prepare as necessary. The online release documentation can be found in the Downloads section below.

The release will be installed on Saturday, August 8, 2009. The HETS 270/271 application will be unavailable during the system release. CMS will distribute more specific release information (including estimated outage times) in July, 2009.
