Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS announces that it will activate HETS 270/271 real-time FFS Medicare NPI validation on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Activation of this edit will cause an outage beginning at 6:00 AM ET on Saturday, September 17, 2011. The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors. CMS estimates that the HETS 270/271 Medicare eligibility system will be back in service by 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Saturday, September 17, 2011. HETS 270/271 will, at that point, begin validating FFS Medicare NPI numbers and Submitter to FFS Medicare NPI relationships in real-time.
