Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS is planning a HETS 270/271 system release in March 2013. This release is an optional new service offering for the HETS 270/271 application. There are no content changes to the 270 request or the 271 response and this release is completely optional – existing submitters are not required to take any action or change any of their existing processes. The release offers the option of a secure, web-based connectivity method to the HETS 270/271 application.

Please note that while the Companion Guide was primarily updated to reflect details relevant to the optional new service offering, there were also minor changes made to other sections of the document. Please see Appendix D (Revision History) of the Companion Guide for complete details.
The release is tentatively scheduled to be installed in mid-March, 2013. The HETS 270/271 application will be unavailable during the system release. CMS will distribute more specific release information (including estimated outage times) in the near future.
