Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:
CMS announces a new upcoming outage to the Medicare HETS 270/271 eligibility system. The outage will begin at 7:00 AM ET on Saturday, January 14, 2017. The HETS 270/271 system will be unavailable during this period. Attempts to open a connection to the HETS 270/271 application will result in errors. CMS estimates that the maintenance window will be completed by 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Additionally, the HETS Desktop (HDT) tool will be unavailable from 7:00 AM ET on Saturday, January 14, 2017 until 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Sunday, January 15, 2017. HDT is a complimentary tool used by most HETS Submitters to create trading relationships between their HETS 270/271 Submitter ID and a Medicare Provider/Supplier’s NPI. The CMS EFT system will be available to accept HDT batch files during this period, but the files will not be processed until at least 12:00 PM (Noon) ET on Sunday, January 15, 2017.
Please note that this new HETS 270/271 outage is in addition to the previously announced outages for Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8, 2017 (as outlined below).
