CMS requests your feedback on options for removing the Social Security number from Medicare cards.

Congress has asked CMS to explore options for removing the Social Security number (SSN) from Medicare cards to reduce the risk of identity theft for Medicare beneficiaries. CMS would like to minimize the burden on providers/clearinghouses and asks for your feedback on the 2 options under consideration.
