Medicare HETS 270/271 Submitters:

CMS has published an updated version of the Release Summary for the upcoming R2018Q100 release (which is scheduled for March, 2018).  The URL below remains the same, but version 1.2 is now available for review and planning.  CMS urges all HETS Submitters to use this R2018Q100 Release Summary and the upcoming R2018Q100 Companion Guide to prepare for this important upcoming release.

The R2018Q100 release is currently scheduled for March, 2018.  Submitters will be notified when additional information is available regarding this release.

Note that the HETS R2018Q100 release is in addition to the previously announced HETS New Medicare Project Release that will go into effect on April 1, 2018.  The HETS New Medicare Card Project Release introduces several changes to the HETS 270 request and 271 response transactions.  These changes include the option to begin submitting the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) instead of a HICN on a HETS 270 request.  CMS encourages all HETS Submitters to migrate their systems to submit the MBI as soon as the new Medicare card and number is available.  CMS has published a HETS 270/271 New Medicare Card Project Release Summary in anticipation of this release.  CMS urges all HETS Submitters to use this New Medicare Card Project Release Summary and the amended HETS 270/271 Companion Guide to prepare for this important upcoming release.
