Open Door Forum: Next Generation ACO Model - Benefit Enhancements Overview

The Next Generation ACO Model team hosted an open door forum on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. The Next Generation Model features three payment rule waivers, referred to as benefit enhancements. This open door forum provided an overview of the Model’s three benefit enhancements: a waiver of the rule requiring a three-day inpatient stay prior to admission to a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), waivers of certain telehealth requirements to allow for telehealth services to be furnished to a beneficiary in his or her place of residence as well as in originating sites in non-rural areas, and a waiver allowing post-discharge home visit services to be furnished under general supervision.
