Will Harris

Acting Deputy Director

Will Harris, J.D., is the acting Deputy Director for the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). He is a career civil servant who has worked at the agency since January 2015. Prior to this position, Will worked in the Office of the Administrator as a senior advisor, helping to coordinate work on pandemic and emergency responses and the agency’s oversight priorities at CCSQ and Center for Program Integrity (CPI), among other cross-cutting initiatives. Prior to that, he worked in the agency’s Office of Legislation (OL). There, he worked on responses to Congressional oversight and investigations and, for over two years, served as the group director of the office’s Hearings and Policy Presentation Group.

Will moved to Washington, D.C., in 2013 from his home state of Louisiana to work on health care policy in the United States Senate. Will holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and philosophy from Louisiana State University and a J.D. and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He is also a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute’s Leadership for a Democratic Society program. He lives in Washington with his wife and daughter, who was born in July 2024.
