Performance & Budget

The CMS FY 2021 budget request has been finalized and submitted to Congress. This Congressional Justification of the budget presents the resource requests for programs, focuses on key performance measures, and summarizes program results.

The FY 2021 targets and most recent activity for key CMS performance measures are included in the FY 2021 Congressional Justification, as required by the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) of 1993 and the GPRA Modernization Act of 2010.  CMS GPRA performance measures are included and officially reported on in the FY 2021 HHS Annual Performance Plan and Report at: https://www.hhs.gov/about/budget/fy2021/performance/index.html

The addendum below addresses the requirements of the Good Accounting Obligation in Government Act (GAO-IG Act; Public Law 115-414) to provide a report identifying each public recommendation issued by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and federal Offices of Inspectors General (OIG) which remains unimplemented for one year or more from the annual budget justification submission date.

Previous performance and budget documents are located on the Prior Years' Performance & Budget Submissions page.
