IMPACT Act Stakeholder Engagement Opportunities
• Attend an Open Door Forum (ODF) & Special Open Door Forums (SODFs) — an opportunity for live dialogue between CMS and the stakeholder community at large. These are intended for all stakeholders who interact with CMS or work with consumers who rely on services that CMS provides
• Participate in National Provider Calls — educational conference calls conducted for the Medicare provider and supplier community that educate and inform participants about new policies and/or changes to the Medicare program.
• Participate in a Technical Expert Panel (TEP) — As part of its measure development process, CMS asks contractors to convene groups of stakeholders and experts who contribute direction and thoughtful input to the measure contractors during measure development and maintenance. You can nominate yourself or other individual for consideration on a TEP.
• Comment on a CMS Quality Measure -- The public comment period provides an opportunity for the widest array of interested parties to provide input on the measures under development and can provide critical suggestions not previously considered by the measure contractor or its technical expert panel (TEP).
• Get involved in the Measure Applications Partnership (MAP) —MAP is a public-private partnership convened by the National Quality Forum (NQF) to provide input to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the selection of performance measures for federal health programs. Comment on Measures Under Consideration, submit a public comment on draft reports, or attend a MAP event. Additional information on Pre-Rulemaking web page.
• Opportunities through the National Quality Forum (NQF) — NQF convenes working groups with key public and private sector leaders to foster quality improvement in both public and private-sectors, endorses consensus standards for performance measurement, ensures that consistent, high-quality performance information is publicly available, and seeks real time feedback to ensure measures are meaningful and accurate.
• Participate in Medicare Learning Network (MLN) – MLN provides educational resources for health care professionals who wish to learn more about CMS from subject matter experts via live webcasts and newsletters. These are opportunities to hear about work done in various CMS programs and to discuss frequently asked questions.
• Nominate a colleague for a steering committee
• Submit a measure for endorsement
