Upcoming MAC Calls & Billing Software Questions
To help Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) understand Medicare billing, each CMS Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) company will host a teleconference to introduce themselves and educate OTPs on the functions MACs perform, especially around billing, claims processing, and payment. At a minimum, these sessions will discuss:
- OTP coverage
- Claims submission, including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
- Payment, including how to understand the remittance advice
- Portal availability, including gaining access and using it
- Key information for contact center and the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) authentication
- How to submit an appeal
These calls will occur between December 9th and 20th; we will send registration information soon.
We understand that billing software vendors may have questions about programming their systems for G-codes and bundling payments for Medicare billing. We encourage you to invite your billing vendors to attend the above sessions. To help your vendors who may start programming their systems now, please encourage them to submit billing software questions to with the subject “OTP Billing Software.”
