CMS Section 508 Policy

CMS Section 508 Policy

CMS operates many programs that are critically important to people with disabilities. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is often the vehicle for delivering them. The CMS Section 508 Policy addresses how the agency makes ICT accessible to people with disabilities. It also identifies stakeholder roles and responsibilities around accessibility. As an agency, we believe everyone is accountable and responsible for accessibility conformance. CMS uses HHS’ Section 508 framework as a model for the standards and best practices we employ.

The CMS Section 508 Official, who is responsible for the agency’s implementation and compliance activities, approved the agency’s most recent Section 508 Policy (PDF)
